Loving yourself is about celebrating what makes you unique. We hear this a lot, and yet we are inundated with ways to compare ourselves to others, only making it more challenging to accept ourselves fully and not buy into the hype of conformity.
If you find your inner dialog has been ripe with a lot of critical and cruel analyzations, taking a few moments to incorporate some heart openers, and meditation below, into your day can really help to dial down the harshness and dial up the love.
We go through a lot of our lives protecting our heart space, which energetically can really close us off to connection, expansion, warmth and kindness, which is really the opposite of what we’re trying to achieve by being protective in the first place.
If you’re feeling out of practice with receiving or giving love, below is a meta meditation I use that is so powerful.
▫Sit in a quiet place, close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and repeat the mantra: “ I am bright, I am deserving”
▫Repeat this several times while breathing deeply.
Imagine a beam of light forming in your heart space, keeping breathing and let this light expand.
▫️Once it’s filled that place, imagine it shooting out of your heart space and let this light connect with the first three people that come to mind, whether they be a stranger you passed in the street or your oldest friend, just pick the first three.
Imagine that you are sending them love and light you have created in your heart space. Let the warmth fill you up.
