Morocco

The food, the history, the COLOR...

It may be a staircase to nowhere, but the colors at this famous home in Marrakesh made it impossible to stay away from.

Who travels to Morocco in the summer, you ask ? This girl, apparently. This year's annual Birthday trip took me half-way across the world and I have to say at times it felt like I was on an entirely different planet.

We spent three days in Marrakesh, a city i've dreamed of visiting for years.

Fireplaces don't get much better than this

The charm was intoxicating almost instantly. We stayed at an amazing hotel in the Middle of the Medina, Jardin De La Koutoubia. It was a perfect oasis away from the busy streets of the Medina just outside your door.

Pathway to our room

After a day of travel we were starving. Having only a short time, I did so much research on where to eat and what to see while we were in town. We had the most lovely dinner in a Riad style restaurant, Dar Marjana where your coursed dinner comes with a live belly dancing show and stunning local music.

The next day we headed to a hotel that I will never forget, La Mamounia. Rated the No. 1 hotel in the world in 2018, it certainly stood up to the hype. The lush gardens, opulent interior and historical past all blend together to create the most magnetic energy. Well worth the splurge.
